Stems and mixing
Take a finished song apart and mix it again. On iOS and Mac; not on Android.
Song settings
- iOS: tap the sliders button at the right of a song's row, or More ▸ Song settings in Now Playing.
- Mac: click the sliders button on a song's row, press ⌘I, or choose File ▸ Song Settings….
Remove vocals
In Song settings ▸ Versions, choose Remove vocals or Vocals only.
Finished versions are listed there. Tap one to play it. Its menu has Share and Delete.
Stems
In Song settings ▸ Stems, choose Separate. The song splits into four stems: Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other.
Export stems saves the four files:
- iOS: choose a Format, then where to send them.
- Mac: they go to Music ▸ ChorusPop and open in Finder.
Mixer
On iOS, tap Open mixer. On a Mac, the mixer is the Stems tab.
| Control | What it sets |
|---|---|
| Volume | The stem's level |
| Mute, Solo | Silence a stem, or hear only the soloed ones |
| Pan | Left to right |
| EQ | Low, Mid and High |
| Reverb, Compressor, Low cut | Effects, under FX on iOS |
| Master | The whole mix |
| Reset | Back to flat |
Your mixer settings stay with the song.
Save mix adds the mix to Versions as Mix.
On a Mac, every finished version and mix is also saved to Music ▸ ChorusPop.
